Starpoint FM was a London wide soul music pirate radio station broadcasting on 93.2 FM between 1985 --- 1990. With a strap line "Londons Real Alternative" we played everything from soul, funk, jazz, disco, boogie, two step, rare groove, gogo, house, garage, hip hop, rap, swing beat, new jack swing, reggae, p funk and salsa and all the new releases of the day. I presented my first show in October 1986 and remained with Starpoint until its closure in December 1990.

Broadcasting from Crystal Palace, South London our signal could be heard all over London and the home counties most weekends. Carl Webster (DJ name Carl C) station owner and a team of DJ's which included Chris Phillips who later went on to Jazz FM / Kiss 100 FM / Choice, Wilber Wilberforce now at BBC 1xtra, Jigs now on Choice FM and Maxi Jazz now lead singer of the band Faithless. Other dj's included Gary Lee, Sammy Sam, Kev Beadle, Glenn T, Terry Brown, Mix Master Mac, DJ Andy, Alan Sage, Eddy James plus many more.

During the 90s after life as a pirate Starpoint FM was the official on site radio station at the Southport Weekender where I also presented many shows.
